Give me some CANDY!
While reading all those fashion blogs (mostly Italian, dunno why) I heard a lot about Furla Candy bags.. I saw them in pink, green and every other fashionable candy-colour. But yesterday I discovered the 'CANDY BOSTON'..
Check it out!
It is really my cup of tea! Now it's about e few months already that I'm looking for the perfect bag. It has two conditions: It has to be black and my iPad should fit in it! Mission completed! Although I should shop for Christmas presents first before I should spoil myself... again! ;)

A new way around
A long time ago you were a fashionista when you had a scrapbook of all your favorite fashion items cut out of every issue of Vogue, Elle, ... Or when you drew or stitched your own clothing line..
Now the whole fashionista-thing went a whole way around. Although Vogue and Elle show us what haute couture looks like.. The real couture can be found in the streets.. It's the diamond trend model (Henrik Vejlgaard, trendwatcher) all over again. Real fashionistas that wear whatever they like mingle with friends, they copy their style and that's how fashion works. And now these 'mingling and copying' activities got a boost through social media. Famous fashion bloggers or 'ego bloggers' show how you can be very fashionable without spending your total pay! I really love to look at my twitter page and see that they posted a new outfit. At those moments I think 'why don't I have a photographer to take my outfit-pictures?'.. :D
I love to pick up all their ideas. It gives me a lot of inspiration to combine things out of my closet (so no extra shopping is needed). So with this blog I'll make my own little fashion and gadget wishlist. :)

Molla the owl
Yesterday I found out about Molla the owl through www.thecoolhunter.com .. She is gorgeous! I thought my little birdy was the cutest of them all.. But I guess I'm (partually) wrong! After seeing Molla the owl.. I think my next bird will be an owl and not a parrot. She looks very cute and all, but in fact it's a predator.. So these 'screech owls' eat rats, mice, wurms... and they're not that intelligent as parrots.. But still.. When I move to a bigger place.. I'll take a screech owl in mind as pet.. :)
Friends call me the 'bird-lady'.. Now you know why.. When I see one of these.. i melt.. :D

Pocketbooth
Everybody knows those little photobooths at the trainstation.. Well, I discovered a nice alternative that you can try everywhere. You can even export your photos to Facebook. Titi (my friend) and I tried it a while ago and the result is very funny! The last one made us think of a scene in 'the bold and the beautiful'. For acting parts in series or films, just mail me! ;)
You can download the app in the appstore: 'Pocketbooth'. Goodluck with that! :)
Meet the love of my life!
Since I moved to Ghent I wanted to have a pet. At my parents we have two dogs, multiple cats (lost the count), chickens and a parrot. Frodo, the parrot, has been living with us since I was 18. So I wanted to take him (or her, but I consider it's a 'he') with me when I moved out of the house. Unfortunately my father didn't agree. He said he heard something about 'lovely little colorful parrots' that are the ideal pets that bond with their owners, the so named 'agapornis' or lovebirds. What's in a name right?? A visit at the birdshop had 'Marcel' as a result. Isn't he (indeed, he has to be a 'he') adorable??
I named him 'Marcel' (I always say 'Marcelleke' because it's Dutch for Little Marcel), an idea from my dad. I really love his colors and the fact he has a white part around his eye. It makes him look naughty! And he definetely is!! After I bought him, I also read about the 'bad characteristics' of these lovebirds on the internet. They appear to have an urgency to destroy everything they see. So when I let him out of the cage, I have to pay attention or he bites through my books, papers.. money (yes yes, been there). His favourites are my invoices, what makes him a great accountant! ;)
But all those bad things vanish when he flies around, lands on my shoulder and messes around with my hair.. Sometimes, when he's in a good mood, I even get a kiss.. :)
A new start needs some cleaning.. ;)
This week started as a rough week at work in combination with a couple of sleepless nights. I had a paper deadline for a conference monday midnight, and as usual it was 11 p.m. when it was submitted (I always take deadlines literally).. So tuesday I planned an in my eyes deserved quiet 'me-time' evening at my place with time for a long long shower (in other ways I'm a very sustainable person, I sort my garbage) and a happy end as a couch potato. Coming home I got the brilliant idea to just clean out my closet. That way I would be more aware of the potential of 'my collection'. The result was a true reality check: two garbage bags of clothes and one bag of shoes (I still have to do 'my shoes part II', so soon you'll get the end result).
You should know that I'm a true collector, I have difficulties throwing things away. I was also thinking about the plus-side to the story: now there's plenty of room for new tops, pants, blazers, shorts... and shoes! :) So now I have room for my new additions: a black leather jacket (Zara) and a silver blouse (H&M). I love them, what do you think? I should put a photo on wearing them, but I have to find a volunteer-photographer first.. :)
